Key Lessons
To live in the Promised Land, you must face your Jericho (your anger, bitterness, or prejudice. Move from false premises to God’s promises.
It’s not always easy. We are in spiritual warfare. But God has already declared that we are the victors. He is saying, “Be strong and good courage.” Joshua 1:6
Keep marching and believing. Defeat your strongholds with the spiritual weapons of worship. Scripture, and prayer. It’s just a matter of time before your Jericho comes down.
Resonating Quotes
“Remember, you are a coheir with Christ. Every attribute of Jesus is at your disposal.”
God will do that for you. Your Jericho is your fear. Your Jericho is your anger, bitterness, or prejudice. Your insecurity about the future. Your guilt about the past. Your negativity, anxiety, and proclivity to criticize, overanalyze or compartmentalize. Your Jericho is any attitude or mindset that keeps you from joy, peace, or rest.

Book Review
He Fights For You is written by Max Lucado, one of the most prolific and popular Christian writers of our time. This is the third book I’ve read from him.
On Amazon, He Fights For You received a 4.8 out of 5-star rating from more than 600 readers. If I’m going to rate this book, I’ll be giving it a 4-star rating.
The introduction was very powerful. I just like how Max recounts the story of Joshua and the Israelites when they were commanded by God to circle around the walls of Jericho. I’ve heard this passage in preaching but this book gave me a whole new perspective. More than obedience, it allowed me to see that I’m already a victor in my battles. It reminds me of the tools I need to bring down my strongholds, as He did for Joshua. Life will always bring challenges. But God will always give us the strengths to face them.
I highly recommend this book. I’ll assure you it won’t waste your time. After reading this book, you will never see the Book of Joshua in the same way again. It contains 40 promises that every Christian should live out in everyday battles.
